Announcement: Lapse of licence of Mason Privatbank Liechtenstein AG / Resolution of voluntary liquidation

The Financial Market Authority (FMA) Liechtenstein was informed by Mason Privatbank Liechtenstein AG that the extraordinary general meeting of Mason Privatbank Liechtenstein AG on 12 March 2021 resolved the voluntary liquidation of the bank. Mason Privatbank Liechtenstein AG i.L. published an announcement on 15 March 2021.

The licence of Mason Privatbank Liechtenstein AG i.L., Austrasse 51, 9490 Vaduz, to operate a bank has lapsed pursuant to Article 27(1)(c) of the Banking Act (BankG) pursuant to renunciation in writing effective 15 March 2021.

Mason Privatbank Liechtenstein AG i.L. is accordingly no longer entitled to provide or offer banking services in accordance with Article 3 BankG.

To ensure client protection, the FMA is taking the measures necessary for the execution of the liquidation and the settlement of ongoing business and is issuing the necessary instructions to the liquidators. The FMA also supervises the liquidators and the liquidation.

On 8 February 2021, the FMA announced the appointment of a temporary administrator for Mason Privatbank Liechtenstein AG. The mandate of the temporary administrator expires with the return of the banking licence.
