Organization

The Financial Market Authority (FMA) Liechtenstein is an autonomous establishment under public law with its own legal personality. The authority is independent in the performance of its activities and is not bound by instructions. The organization, responsibilities and powers of the FMA are governed by the Financial Market Authority Act (FMA Act).

The Government of Liechtenstein has ultimate oversight of the FMA. The governing bodies of the FMA are the Board of Directors, the Executive Board and the Audit Office.

The FMA is funded by a State contribution, supervisory taxes and fees, as well as income from the provision of services.
