ESMA publishes report on the quality and use of data
The report presents specific examples of data use, ranging from market surveillance to supervision and enforcement. A recent example is ESMA's reuse of existing data to reduce the reporting burden (i.e. the use of MIFIR transaction data to calculate transparency and volume caps)
Similarly, ESMA published the Data Quality Engagement Frameworks (DQEFs) together with a matrix showing the key dimensions of data quality in each framework (DQEF). These DQEFs are important to formalize the exchange between the individual supervisory authorities and ESMA and to create a consistent and comprehensive approach to ensuring data quality.
