In its statement dated June 23, 2026, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) once again highlights the approaching end of the MiCAR transition period. Service providers that do not hold a license as a crypto-asset service provider (CASP) under MiCAR as of July 1, 2026, are expected to take immediate steps to wind down their activities in an orderly manner, while safeguarding the interests of clients and mitigating risks to market integrity.
